Va - Unhappy Anniversary v.2 (unfond025)

NetLabel: www.unfoundsoundrecords.com
Archive.org: unfound25
Style: minimal tech, minimal

We are stoked as hell to present unfoundsound’s two-year anniversary compilation, unhappy anniversary vol. 2. Last year’s mega-long-as-fuck anniversary compilation garnered thousands and thousands of downloads.

This year, the compilation is features 28 tracks from most foundsound and unfoundsound artists, along with a handful of new bombs from some of today’s most dope-ass up-and-coming producers. And, of course, there are a few well-known hot shot artists sprinkled in for spledid measure.

And of course, this compilation is also a way to show our appreciation to all the love and support that foundsound and unfoundsound received over the past two years. So thank you all very much, you big nerds!.

So before our world explodes or hits another ice age, slurp this up while you can. Free netlabels are fun!.

Cesare Vs Disorder - Inaccurate Ep (unfound024)

NetLabel: www.unfoundsoundrecords.com
Archive.org: unfound24
Style: minimal tech

Unfoundsound presents cesare vs disorder — an italian dj/producer currently based in london while co-running the mean label. Inaccurate ep offers four minimal throbbers that gurgle, glide and suck you dry within a watered-down mesh of gawky disarray and off-kilter voices.

“fisherman” toys with your head through gut-wrenching pitched-down voices, a watery atmosphere, impish reverbs, a warm-rolling bass, and the ideal groove for any minimal dj at an afterhours jammy-jam.

On “orhuc”, minimalism becomes a peculiar playground with a simplistically alluring beat, a detuned sitar, playful effects, and an altogether wily arrangement.

“around vrzina” is a deep head-trip with gritty percussion, awkwardly pitched voices, perlon-esque funk and a driving groove.

“clowns” is downright quirky and subterranean — crafted with bouncing oddities, synthesized bubbly-ness and a snappy groove.

If you are a cool minimal hipster, then you will adore cesare vs disorder. Do you wanna be minimal and cool? Yeah, of course you do!.

Va - Massalian Private Jokes (unfound023)

NetLabel: www.unfoundsoundrecords.com
Archive.org: unfound23
Style: minimal tech

After many super-duper reactions to the aires buenos compilation, unfoundsound continues the “location series” featuring another blossoming surge of techno producers based in a different pocket of the world: marseille, france.

After living in the usa for many years, mr. Fusiphorm moved back to his homeland, and he settled in marseille. He currently runs foundsound’s european office there while quickly becoming close with a small group of witty, sarcastic and creative people such as sarah goldfarb, d-click, and those behind labels roman, photo, indigo*magenta and bip-hop.

The underground sound flowing out of marseille is deep, quirky, emotive and melodic. Massallian private jokes showcases a tight-knit family of creative minds hailing from the south of france.

The end result is nine tracks courtesy of redwan, lu&nl, doesnotcompute, sam & dave & lowran, greg le roy, larry flint, cedric eteocle, sarah goldfarb, and fusiphorm himself on remix duty.

Marcoerre - Only A Plant Can Help Me (unfound022)

NetLabel: www.unfoundsoundrecords.com
Archive.org: unfound22
Style: minimal tech

Unfoundsound is stoked to present a young newcomer, marcoerre, of northern italy. On his first release ever, only a plant can help me ep, marcoerre offers four completely fucked-up, dubbed-out tracks suitable for both crazy peak-time hours as well as the dark and dingy afterhours.

He is a master at slicing and dicing organic sounds and creating a mishmash of noisy textures that are playful, chaotic and even a little bit disturbing — meanwhile, maintaining a solid, danceable groove behind dubby, sub-heavy basslines. In a nutshell, this is techno for lsd.

David last - What What (unfound021)

NetLabel: www.unfoundsoundrecords.com
Archive.org: unfound21
Style: minimal tech

Unfoundsound presents a six-track masterpiece courtesy of brooklyn’s david last — featuring three original numbers, plus three remixes by so inagawa (of the suffragettes), ditch and suz. On the whatwhat? ep, david last demonstrates his diverse music-making dexterity and crystal-clean production skills.

The ep commences with “animal hybrids” — a quirky, snippy dancefloor killer fueled by snarling found sounds and snappy percussion that all minimal techno djs can appreciate.

Then on “where it falls”, david last slows the bpm down to a chugging crawl — yielding a groovy, slow-paced dub tune meticulously doused with blips, bleeps and heady reverbs (somewhat reminiscent of monolake). This is followed by “sporty ankles” — a minimal masterwork that moves gently with broken beats, pretty vocal stabs, snippy percussion, drenching reverbs and a dubby undertone.

Then so inagawa reworks “where it falls” into a deep, sample-heavy minimal ass-shaker soaked with goofy found sounds and reverb-drenched timbres. Then ditch offers an upbeat remix of “sporty ankles” — a driving crowd-pleaser with a hard-hitting beat, gritty melodies and funny sound-sculpting.

And last but not least, suz offers another version of “where it falls” — a sexy and heady minimal house ditty doused with chopped up vocal snippets, a rumbling bassline, grainy textures and shuffly percussion.

Omar Salgado - Miniatura (unfound20)

Netlabel: www.unfoundsoundrecords.com
Style: minimal, minimal tech

Unfoundsound presents the debut release by omar salgado from argentina. On miniatura, you get five perfect tracks that are impossible for any minimal techno geek to resist. Omar’s tracks frolic in your head as if invoked by a young, playful child — meanwhile digging metronomically into your deep sub-conscience as if invoked by a crafty connoisseur.

Omar’s production is ultra-clean, tracky and utterly groovy — playfully crafted with tiny, snippy (and somewhat cute) percussion. Reverbs warm the air in meticulously placed sections. Basslines poke and bounce. His gritty found-sounds are quirky and ultra-cool. It seems that omar salgado is only just get started.
