Double Trouble: Double Trouble aka Alexandros Akritopoulos is a 33 year old music lover that has been exploring the methods of music creation for the past ten years.

Having as key influences the 80s electronic pop and the modern tech house scene and loaded with a computer, he has come to give form & direction to his ideas.

He enjoys the evolution of greek electronic dance scene during the past 5 years and believes that there is to come an outburst of new independent greek producers. He hopes to leave his stigma in the years to come.

Latest addition to This Side Music’s roster, irishman Mick Chillage, an avid music lover for decades and long-time contributor to the underground electronic scene in his homelands, beatifully crafts his inspiration and influences to create three fresh sounding analog tracks which retain their old-school character while they keep an open eye to the future.

Eye on the City sets off electro-style with its acidic bassline and breakbeat rhythm paving the way for the melody and a huge bass synth to kick in. Keep in mind that this melody may stick in your head for a while! Next up, Project Echo sounds exactly like one should expect; filled with echoing synths and a so-deep bassline along a filtered detroit rhythm section that invite you to join their dubby soundspace.

The last track on the EP, Altitude, promises to get you as high as you let yourself; and it couldn’t miss with a soft & nice melody like this.

Buenas, la música house y yo nunca nos hemos llevado demasiado bien, excepto el progressive house que en sus buenos tiempos (2002-2003) me gustó bastante, pero la vida da muchas vueltas y desde que me metí en el mundillo de los netlabels, seguramente por carencia, a veces la echo en falta. Por eso, entre otras cosas, de vez en cuando va bien encontrar alguna una referencia como esta. Destacable especialmente el sonido, muy bueno, y primer track, para mi gusto, el mejor.

Buenas, esta reléase lleva dando vueltas por mi disco duro prácticamente una semana y hasta hoy no me decidí a añadirla. Si bien los 2 primeros tracks me gustan bastante, el tercero y el cuarto (por su estilo) podría decir que van en contra de mi religión jajajaja, pero a pesar de esto creo que finalmente compensa el compartirla con vosotros.
Por último, para ser justo, quiero hacer referencia al magnífico sonido que tienen las 4 canciones, un gran mastering, cristalino, de calidad.

This Side Up presents ‘Thumbs Up’ ep, the first release/compilation of the label, which showcases the artists forming the core of the label. Deep & tech house are the main ingredients of the tracks, which are the first releases for each artist.

Lee Fraged teams up with Pantal (aka dj Numark/Funxion) to create the detroit influenced, acid-tinged beats of ‘Love Machine’, a deep yet punchy tech track filled with a distinct luscious pad to give a melancholic touch and spur feelings of a mechanical-love-future. Too serious for you? Try the Double Trouble treat of two tracks.

L17 has a summer feel with its deep bass, dubby effects & and delayed vocal snippets. Fetish on the other side drives a deeper way, west coast influenced, with the percussion keeping the pace and the deep male vocals, Xerxes style, showing the way. Linny Berret finishes off the pack, on a housier tone, with ‘Deeper Luv’, a basic track with a 4 on the floor old-skool tempo and a fluffy bassline complete with subtle vocals and an exotic melody.
