The title track, Swing Up, opens this release with a shaky hats and space ship bleeps. Kidia works itself into a tizzy with nice percussion sounds and a great open hi hat. The final track, Fixo loses none of the energy of the previous two tracks. Again with the percussive elements and hi hat work.

Attune kicks off with the title track, a straightforward jammer of a track with a swing on the bassline and melancholic pad.
The second track, Head Rush, is a little darker with Stevie’s signature chord progressions and super clicky hats and percussion. Uhu wraps up the originals with a fun and funky little number.
Measax strips it down on his remix of Attune. Newcomer Emory Emlyn get’s shaky on his interpretation of Head Rush and Jeffrey.S rounds out the back end with a percussive rework of Uhu.

To say that we have a very special release for you lovers of free culture out there would be a towering understatement. This month we’re delighted to showcase the Gutter Lust Ep.
This long overdue follow-up is a moody and vivid EP from StirSound landlord and proprietor Jon Doe showcasing his most guilty pleasures. Bringing up the rear on this one are the label heads of two of our favorite netlabels, Carlo from Neovinyl and D.Soul of Tropic.
As the title track implies, Gutter Lust is composed of shadowy melodies fused with seedy and opaque undertones. In short, its comparable to finding yourself astray in a dimly lit and deserted sector of town on a murky fall night. A bouncy 808 pushes thru sultry pad textures while floaty hi hats shiver opposite a penetrating sub bass.
Carlo’s Remix keeps noticeably true to the textures of the original while adding a polished touch of flange and a more locked down feel via transitory snares and persistent hi hat placements. Contrasting with the mysterious vibes of Gutter Lust is the jubilantly charming Dimmi Tutto. Its prominent feature is a tech-house style chord that sits snugly atop a perpetually heaving bass stab.
D.Soul’s Remix takes the original and gives it a twist of delay and adds a very danceable and magnetic feel to round out a mesmerizing and well framed Ep from Stir’s visionary-in-cheif.

We begin with Hikhup, a highly textured and layered composition that combines warm tech house elements with a deep analog bass and interspersed glitchy-ness to satisfy the schizo in all of us. Next is the most melodic of the three. Bad Girl tells it’s story of love and betrayal through choppy femme vocals, rich and ominous pads and swirling sound effects.
Last is After Kagne I’m Kompletly Paranoiak, with it’s carefully crafted soundscapes and acidic bassline; D-Click flexes his diversity muscles combining the bouncy with the dark and the sparse with the lush that perfectly rounds up an EP chock full rhythm and sensuality.

Klingons Attack with Dark Power with it’s warbly bassline and serious shuffle hats. Don’t You Know gets funky, complete with huffing vocals, dissonant melodies and a layer of warm swelling pads.
Dark Day II has a great house feel to it sprinkled with words your mother hates to hear you say and a grumpy low end. 911 drops in with a thick under-shaded bass supporting it’s arpeggiated bass and eerie synth.
DownTime rearranges the vocal in their Dark Day Remix into an offensive and sexually suggestive place, perfect to corner your dance partners.

Just Done It Ep begins with the beautiful, yet startling, A Round A Love. Both dreamy and dark, this one will definately put you in the mood. Next is Just Done It, a noisy mash-up of distorted messages translated over a dubby rhythm.
Send To is a cheerful piece with soft movement. Jon Doe’s remix takes A Round A Love into classic techno territory. April Vallen’s interpretation of Just Done It gives a little more funk. And newcomer, Lui, gets dark and heavy on his remix of Send To.

Measax starts out deep with Avocado Tree. The vocal floats effortlessly over funky percussion and a bassline. Notorio pushes the tempo a little higher.
It creates a detached feeling with it’s delinquent melody and scattered snaps. Coffee & Tea gets noisy with a little fuzz on the bassline.
In The Company of Miss Ory brings the bleep with a funky little line. Closing up the rear is Rickets, a spooky noisy number with flashes of hi-hats and the deep boom of bass.

In celebration of our 1 year anniversary, we are very proud to bring you anniSTIRsary vol 1 - random remixes. This compilation was built on the concept of randomly assigned remixes and includes the work of core StirSound family members, as well as friends new and old. Tracks from nearly every one of our releases to date were hand selected and assigned for remix by pulling names out of a hat. Just like the larger part of our catalog, there is a variety and solid production oozing from this one.
The artwork was done by our favorite feline friend Boo, always a pleasure to work with. His work can also bee seen on Jon Doe’s ‘The Babbo Ep’ and ‘The Babbo Remixes’ as well as Sarah Goldfarb’s ‘Calling You’ and April Vallen’s ‘Secret Police’.
The release is joined with a special mix by DJ L’embrouille.

Fuck the Pop sets Victorien in motion with a nice step feel and delicious little scattered bleeps. Copyrate keeps the loopy funk but opens up a little more to an ambient flow.
Alexi is a big one with it’s synthetic strings and hi-hat arrangements, not to mention the drum break. Indian is all about texture.
This is one to sit back and relax to. Victorien’s production skill is shown most on the last track, Xiker. Deep and hypnotic, with just enough rhythm to make you shake.

Phonecall bounces with a chunky off-time feel. F*cka5’s digs in deeper with a heady tribal-tech remix.

Lowran’s The Call follows his signature direct approach: simple and groovy. Scattered with dialog snippets and short cut snares. Yin Elek’s remix is bit more techy and upbeat with an old school vibe. Grunch is a quirky track.
The bassline rolls around underneath a crazy landscape of clicks and snares that build with intensity. Lowran’s remix has a bubbly feel to it that makes you want to roll another one up.

Koukarin is a bouncy trip down a crowded highway. A loopy rhythm and mesmerizing samples make you feel like you’re in a speeding car dodging in and out of traffic.
Zuper3 is twisted inside out. Nice vocal cuts and a sparkly little melody carry the track along. The title track, Calling You gets a bit darker by way of a smooth pad.
The bassline keeps it steady and a melody bounces over top from side to side. Jon Doe brings it to the sexy side with his remix.
