dubsuite - dubsuite rearranged (stadt016)

Netlabel: www.stadtgruenlabel.net
Link: release
Style: dub, minimal tech, electronic

When Martin Müller and Holger Flinsch in 2006 decided to put their sounds and ideas together, their vision quickly developed into a complex suite of different motifs and tempers - all connected, all contributing to the striking organic eigenleben of the composition.

The concept of evolving derivation is now furthered in this compilation. Eleven artists (including some acquaintances of Stadtgruen) took on samples of the original track, altering and shifting them around to create completely new impressions out of the same material. A newly arranged Dubsuite.

va - sprite (stadt015)

NetLabel: www.stadtgruenlabel.net
Link: release
Style: house, tech-house, minimal deep

From the beginnings of human tradition, there has been a belief in spiritual beings, interacting with our world in shape of fairies or dwarves.

These sprites, according to many legends, show up most vividly when nature seems to work on its bloom, in the early hours of the day, and mostly then in springtime. In curiosity about the fantastic scenes we observe we set up a hike in search for the
wonders of nature.

What we come to find in wandering around is astonishing in any case.

Martin Donath - White Canvas (stadt014)

Netlabel: www.stadtgruenlabel.net
Style: minimal, minimal deep

The hardest part of making arts is to begin - to ruin the perfectly white canvas and raze its purity. As my approach for making arts or music is always of a more architectural kind, this is the case for me.

How often have I sat in front of my laptop, lacking the right mood and enough creative potential to reach the threshold at which things are starting to live and work on their own. I cannot just sit down and outline a track in 30 minutes, perfectionism pays its tribute. Though nothing can ever be perfect, because newly created things always induce further things to emerge from them, the pure striving is one of the main reasons wherefore I am into music.

Besides the technical aspects, there is of course the narrative, which the artist should constantly have in mind. When he begins his work with a fresh idea that came onto him quite recently, the work is completely finished in his head - but the canvas is still empty (or there is only silence, when speaking of music).

So technical knownledge is essential for an approximation of the artist’s picture. As this image is some kind of blurry, because it is always at least partly determined by emotions, this image will have to be reduced in some points. We can never pin it down entirely. How do you describe something analytically that you don’t even see or realize in total?. So where do you want to make your first stroke?.

system-pi - retro moods (stadt013)

Photobucket

NetLabel: www.stadtgruenlabel.net
Style: electronic tech

Since the cold season is pushing spring more and more forth this year, we are forced to restrain our need for warmth and lightness a bit. By doing so, one thing we can do is to bath in remembrance of the warmer days in earlier years, always anticipating those to return within the next few moments.

‘Retro Moods’ plays with exotic and fresh elements, lively rhythmic structures and moving melodies - arranged in a great cocktail to an impressive symphony somewhere between House, Techno and Trance. Wejust have to say: take a sip and move your hip!
