seb steimel - cheats (psnet013)

Netlabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal tech

It’s evident by the track names that Seb Steimel has done his fair share of time behind PC Doom.

Seb has been part of the Pinksilver Family for quite sometime. We are happy to have a full EP front and centre for your dance floor pleasure. This 5 track release is accompanied by a heaving trademark techno remix courtesy of Melbourne’s Craig McWhinney.

02:: IDCLEV (Warp To Level) Warp yarns are subjected to high dynamic forces during the shedding and beat-up. These forces yield tensions on the warp.

04:: IDCLIP (Walk Thru Walls) There was an unmet demand inside him, a new, urgent need, which was none other than the need to walk through walls. He could certainly indulge this need…

manuel santos - colmena (pinksilver012)

Photobucket

Netlabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: electronic, minimal tech

Pinksilver is proud to present an innovative and left-of-centre piece of electronica by Argentinean artist Manuel Santos. Following on with Pinksilver’s love affair of South American artists, Manuel Santos produces crisp synthetic sounds straddled against live instrumentation.

‘Involuto’ glides through undulating landscapes at a pace of 90bpm; the journey is accompanied by live guitar & heartfelt vocals by Mr. Santos.

‘Intrinseco’ enters familiar stripped-to-the groove techno which has been a hallmark of recent Pinksilver releases, clicks & cuts etched in a solid groove and stretched with watertight sounds.

‘Eter’ pulls the listener back & engages them in an intrinsic manner; live electronic guitar accentuating the moody spells within this piece. ‘Eter’ comes with a magnificent video download by Melbourne VJ’s Netzair + Coop, a visual treat that moves as one with the track.

‘Stereotipo’ (with vocals by Manuel) and ‘Constante’ (featuring the vocals of Mauri) return the listener back to solid 4/4 grooves, straddling deep house and deep techno.

“Nothing’s gonna change my mind”. Saludos!

felipe venegas - station tongboy (pinksilvernet011)

Netlabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal tech, technohouse

rarehouse??

Pinksilver is proud to present a rising star of the South American electronic music scene, deeply entwined with Latin rhythms, classical arrangements & synthetic textures. His name - Felipe Venegas.

With a background in contemporary music composition this Santiago, Chile native combines classical instrumentation with epic-like sound arrangements that contain texture, colour & depth.

‘Poema (Clax Mahuasco Mix)’ straddles early evening vibes, journeying through pleasant landscapes with long-time friends. Piano Note features an even longer, winding road into darker spaces accentuates with piano chords & a wonderful bassline. An epic track at over 12 minutes that is always building, ‘Piano Note’ is reminiscent of another well-known Chilean plying his trade in Europe to critical claim…

‘Tongoy’ introduces us to Andre Butano on vocals & conga rhythms, a track at home on the beach as the sun sets & the night begins. Motumb is quite simply a dancefloor bomb combing the same Latin rhythms & congas in ‘Tongoy’, this time to a jacking 4/4 beat & shuffling hi-hats.

Closing off the release is ‘Licanantay’ which is the most synthetic track of the release, but quite possibly the most deadly, cutting its way through the night with dark stabs & classic synth reverbs.

pinksilver
first anniversary

In the world of electronic music, many labels come & go; each offering something of relative value or nothing at all, getting swallowed up & relegated to memories gone past.

So when a simple anniversary such as a first birthday comes around, does it really mean much? With ten superb releases & many new friendships forged in a wide-reaching community, it certainly does for Pinksilver. Think globally, act locally.

So we present 22 cuts of premium quality soundscapes – Dub, downbeat, quirky house, reductionist techno: avant-garde electronic music.

Winnipeg’s Suz opens with an intrinsic foray into downbeat electronica, Tobsucht.fx delves into the quirky side of house; Le Cantin cleanses the soul with Clorine.

Newcomers Amsterdam Assholes deliver us the ‘Beat Generation’, a rolling, rollicking number that is laden with thick, grooving basslines. Mike Wall & Alex Rath continue with the dancefloor stabs & hooks while Pinksilver favourite Paul Agius delivers his finest effort to date for the label in the guise of ‘Bub’.

True techno soundscapes are offered up by Richard Parker, Taras van de Voorde, Dandi e Ugo, Markojux & Santos Resiak; while the likes of Layborn, Sebastian Herre, Seb Steimel & Side Issue slide into dirty bass driven, warped glitch house. Latin duo Breach Boutique (Miguel Colmenares & Michael Louis) introduce us to ‘Rationale’, house-infused Perlon-esque rhythms.

Croatia’s Kexie leaves her Phone on Vibra which gets Jon Doe all Spiggity. Room10 strip it all back with ‘The Plus’, H-Four dishes up some Aeroplane Blonde, Eric Brandy Mvet Tool & Amos some Luv.

The UK’s Tom Eyre delivers unadulterated phatness in the guise of ‘Minor Altercation’ closing out a prodigious release, one to be enjoyed for many birthdays to come – but for now, let’s all celebrate.

With love, The Pinksilver Team.

jon doe - fifth-floor walk-up ep (pinksilver009)

Netlabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal tech, technohouse

Pinksilver’s 9th release comes from New York City’s Jon Doe. The man with the common name presents us with an EP full of sounds & arrangement that resemble anything but common music. As owner of the Stir netlabel, Mr Doe offers Pinksilver the same high-quality metallic resonance that serves Stir so well.

This 4-track EP consists of ‘Draggin’ Feet’, a nostalgic trip into rumbling bass & changing chords, particularly suited for those late night sessions whether at home or in the club. The remix of ‘Draggin’ Feet’ comes from Melbourne’s Paul Agius, keeping true to the original bass & chords but offering a more 4/4 feel to Doe’s original.

The aptly titled ‘Flat Out Boom Boom Babies’ is a glitched-out affair featuring warped vocal snippets, punchy bass & always switching arrangement patterns. Closing out this unique EP is ‘ReBirthday’, highlighting a grittier edge to Jon Doe’s production with deep bass & almost paranormal sound samples to match.

markojux - impossible objects (the remixes 2) (pinksilver007b)

NetLabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal house, minimal tech

Following on from this month’s initial remix package for Markojux’s ‘Impossible Objects EP’, Pinksilver brings you part two to complete the journey in abstract dance forms and the art of remixing.

Pinksilver’s prodigal son Kabale Und Liebe begins proceedings with a hypnotic take of ‘Babelfiche’, followed by a lush journey into deep space acoustics with Eric Brandy’s retake of ‘Babelfiche’. LeCantin showcases his diverse production skills with his remix of ‘Out on a Limb’ which can easily described as being psychedelic in nature.

Kabale Und Liebe reappears with an equally impressive retake of ‘Out on a Limb’, appropriately titled as the ‘Always Late Remix’ Wink. Eric Brandy also returns with a second remix for this release, this time on ‘Verdade Que E’, showcasing his unique string & pad selection in his productions coupled with that special Eric Brandy emotion.

Perth’s Kraekl, aka Richard Parker, continues with the deep melodies on his remix of ‘Bablefiche’, followed by Pinksilver label partner & good guy Lance Harrison with his HFour Interpretation of ‘Ionenalter’, a rolling track with the sweeping pads of the original track. Paris duo Room 10 also reveals themselves with their ‘Rubversion’ of ‘Ionenalter’, & New York native Jon Doe’s from Stir Netlabel introduces himself to Pinksilver with his Deep Breath Remix of ‘Verdade Que E’.

Closing off the remix offering is UAE is Pinksilver favourite Shadi Megallaa & his retake of ‘Out on a Limb’, followed by Florence native Amos & Buenos Aires resident Santos Resiak with their interpretations of ‘Ionenalter’ & Out on a Limb’.

markojux - impossible objects (the remixes part 1) (pinksilver007a)

NetLabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal tech, minimal house

Pinksilver’s second release in late 2006 was by Melbourne artist markojux. His EP entitled ‘Impossible Objects’ announced his arrival on the electronica stage with a mixture of deep, technical & grooving reductionist soundforms.

Pinksilver is proud to announce our 7th release as a bumper remix package of the ‘Impossible Objects’ EP by some of the most talented underground dancefloor purveyouers currently plying their trade. In fact the response to this project has been so overwhelming we will be releasing two packages within the same month.

Dante Costantini from Argentina begins proceedings with a lush & emotive retake of ‘babelfiche’, followed by a smooth revision of ‘verdade que e’ by Florence native Amos. Melbourne local & Pinksilver ally Paul Agius introduces us to his stripped-back interpretation of ‘babelfiche’, followed by two wonderful german lads in Sebastian Herre & Red Kite with a chunky slice of dancefloor funk in their remix of ‘ionenalter’.

Pinksilver favourite Franco Bianco gives us his South American flavour of ‘ionenalter’ before Miami-native, now Berlin based resident Miguel Colmenares presents ‘verdade que e’. The final three remixes of Part I take us through darker dancefloor territory, via Mike Wall’s stomper ‘ionenalter’, Suz’s glitched-up tech house retake of ‘babelfiche’ & the mighty Le Cantin providing a left of center, schaffel-based & low slung vision of ‘babelfiche’.

With this release there is something for all types of music lovers - from the deep, emotive to the wierd, driving & reductionist dancefloor material that’s been a signature of past Pinksilver releases.

Room 10 - Expansion Ep (pinksilver006)

NetLabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal tech

Room 10 is Guet and Hector, a dynamic duo with multiple and complementary influences hailing from Paris, France.

The two joined forces in the studio after meeting up in the Vallée 96.6 FM studios where they both had radio shows & from these beginnings spawned the first hypnotic sounds of Room 10, proudly presented as Pinksilver’s sixth release in the form of the ‘Expansion EP’.

The title track reveals a distinct Room 10 sound – four to the floor, stripped back music that builds, sways & jiggles its way through an intense palette of synthetic sounds. ‘Allende’ follows in the same vein as it finds itself at home on a dark dancefloor, highlighting a talented production duo carving out their own sound in the Paris underground.

The remixes come from south of the equator – Argentina & Australia to be precise. Buenos Aires native Franco Bianco delivers a unique mixture of sounds & arrangement in his remix of ‘Allende’ while Melbourne duo Forty6&Two follow up their brilliant remix of Dandi & Ugo’s ‘Rombi’ with a sinister retake of ‘Allende’.

Eric Brandy - Compact, Expand Ep (pinksilver004)

Netlabel: www.pinksilver.net
Style: minimal tech

Pinksilver’s fourth release is a journey into deep space techno acoustics, African drum rhythms & booty shaking dancefloor mayhem from French electronic roducer Eric Brandy. Eric has been part of several percussion groups in the city of Le Havre area, working with Congolese drummers and dancers and also producing some pre-studio tracks for a couple of hip-hop and African singers.

Here he explores the deep, rooty minimal percussive side of techno, trying to give some sense through his experimentation and enable the mind to expand as much as the legs do on a dancefloor. We welcome Eric to the Pinksilver family.
