For it’s 23rd release Pentagonik is proud to welcome Enzo & Topper with their Black Rabbit EP. The EP consists of five dark, minimal edgy tracks, with distant mumbling emerging from the hazy background, deep stabs, quaking bass lines and cutting atmospheres.

With a variety of diverse influences, somewhere between twisted minimal sound aesthetics and Steve Roach’s dark ambient soundscapes, their first EP delivers an impressive start.

Pentagonik is proud to welcome the co-founder of Trimsound, Tom Ellis with his newest EP “Switched Off”. Known from such labels as archipel, morris/audio or tonimusic Tom is well-known for his unique blend of funked-up, jazz-inspired house and techno, which he is also performing live.

The EP contains four swinging, sometimes abstract, sometimes almost hypnotic tracks. On the jazz base of his tracks Tom fuses minimalist melodies, vocal snippets, percussion and subtle atmospheres to a tasty digital funk experience.

For it’s 20th release Pentagonik is proud to present Patrick di Stefano’s Beautiful Grotesque EP. Known from such netlabels as the Italian tonimusic, Patrick has now come up with four minimally minded, straight to the floor tracks and shows us what his recent sound has been up to.

Forming the base of his tracks are rhythmically complex chopped beats along with a variety of diverse influences, from the dry, subtle sprinkles of acid in “Fando y Lis” to the captivating reverb’ed minmal hooks in “Alchemical Growth” or “Desejos”, the last track that finishes us up with a soporiphic melody for the early hours.

tek, bio:
Franco Cazzola a.k.a Tek was born in 1979 in Turin, Italy. He first discovered his love for music at the age of five or six with the greatest hits of 80’s on the radio. Shifting his interest to glam rock and heavy metal a few years later, he brought his love for music to new heights by honing his skills on the electric guitar.

Starting around 1995, with a slew of illegal parties in the north of Italy, replete with 90’s techno-hardcore, Tek started drawing from the raves to inspire his own music, composing with sequencers and drum machines.

The years 1997-1999 witnessed a shift in his style to electro music, where he also began working PR in underground parties in Turin, with stints at the likes of Centralino and The Beach°. Tek continued producing his music using laptop synths and various outboard machines, culminating in his live set in 2003. One year later Tek would play his live set at dr. Sax Music Club, one of the must famous after-party venues in Italy.

In 2004, Tek opened the Nasty Records recording studio with a friend, Marcelo Tag.

In the years to follow, his live set took him to numerous clubs in Turin, such as the Beach°, Puddhubar, La Gare, Fluido, and of course dr. Sax, and even abroad to such clubs as Moog of Barcelona and numerous other venues all throughout Europe.

This time, the two pentagonik artists Demir and Mabik cause a lot of radiotraffic between Berlin and Stuttgart, with Demir sending some straight pumping techno through the airwaves, and Mabik responding with two deep, murmuring minimal tracks. ¿De qué se reirá el zorro de la portada? jajaja, espero que de nosotros no!. Pentagonik es ya un clásico en el mundo de los netlabels, o un top ten, aunque no me gusta poner rangos en esto, pero indudablemente los hay.
El movimiento se demuestra andando, no cabe duda, y cuando un sello alcanza el nivel de Labil Recordings, Unfound, Pentagonik o el español Inoquo, es lógico que se gane estas distinciones. De nuevo un gran ep minimal techno que está saliendo mucho y muy bueno estos días. A disfrutar.
