Manziping - Valpo (ykyk008)

Free NetLabel: www.yukiyaki.org
Link: Valpo
Style: minimal tech, techno, electronic

Having the Andes mountains as natural reverberation device it’s no surprise that Alisu (= girl) and Rolancho (= boy) spend a good deal of time to blend ravine-deep textures with intense rhythms - playing hide and seek somewhere in the grey urban area between minimal techno and glitchy experimentalism.

Get caught by the beat, take a breath and back-pedal its meaning in your own neuro patterns, get caught again, and so on and so forth.

The concept of Manzping’s first EP for Yuki Yaki - after numerous releases and compilations for Chilean netlabels - is a refreshing dive into a sea of blue hypnosis, a splendid ride between captivating beat pulses, sparkling electric discharges and floating ambient carpets. This is a taste of South America that will wipe off even the most flagrant omen of winter depressions in these days.

Deer - Track Delay (ekl001)

NetLabel: www.ekwal.co.uk
Link: ekl_001
Style: minimal tech, experimental

Ekwal is a new independent netlabel dedicated to making exploratory, minimal techno with an emphasis on live performance. Ekwal’s artists approach music from very different directions, but they share a common desire to produce deep, subtle, sounds aimed directly at the dancefloor.

Ekwal is currently planning releases by artists from around europe, including releases from ‘deer’, ‘rob park’, ‘red shift’ and ‘dug’.

Ekwal’s first release is a collection of 4 tracks by ‘Deer’ aka Martin Hirsch, featuring a blend of fieldrecordings and experiments in techno and electro.

While the first three tracks explore various aspects of the four-on-the-floor paradigm, the last cut, ‘Stationary’, features an excerpt from a living room livejam with Source Records founder ‘Move D’. The ‘Track Delay EP’ was mastered by John McCaig at PanicStudios, Seattle.

Deer has previously released as “random noise productions” on Neo Ouija and Hippocamp. His website can be found at www.regicide.org.

Twin Tower Connection - Electronic Rocka (rar006)

Free NetLabel: www.randomaccessrecordings.com
Archive.org: Electronic_Rocka_EP
Style: electro, tech-house

Our next release is from the man we call Twin Tower Connection, and is entitled; “Electronic Rocka”. Straight out of Zweibrücken, Germany; T.T.C. is always digging deep into the world of experimentation. This release falls somewhere inbetween electro-house, glitch, and minimal techno.

However, with a style smililar to no one. Bass-heavy, hard, and concrete at times, while scupting melodic, electronic, dark tech-house style bass lines at others; this release helps define theversitility of our artists. T.T.C. is one of our most verstile artists, as we’ve heard tracks of many a different kind from his end. He is dedicated to being original.

We love it when artists think and create outsite the box, (still sounding musical ofcoarse, though we understand art is a subjective thing.) This release is filled with lots of layers, songs are sequenced in a pretty simplistic mannner, while dilivering wild, minimal like effects to add interest.

More danceable than some other tracks that Twin Tower has produced, but stilled has his signiture warped, off step-experimental funk sound. This is a release you have to check out. Very different from most and has lots of character. This electronic really does rocka!!!.
