Akimov: Akimov pose ses doigts sur un piano à l’âge de 5 ans et deviendra par la suite pianiste professionnel. Il découvre la synthèse sonore dans les années 90 et se passionne pour l’utilisation des logiciels audio numériques. Il collabore avec Laurent Dewilde, Daniel Yvinek et Brisa Roché comme programmeur et fait une apparition avec son morceau “Tango in the wood” sur la compilation “Electronic Tango” sortie en 2003. Musicien de scène et de studio, Akimov aime marier les différents univers sonores tel que l’électroniques le jazz et l’ethniques.

Cryo: Cryo découvre le mixe aux platines en 1995. C’est alors que commence de nombreuses soirées avec le collectif “K-Bal” (techno), les soirées “Automatik” (Rex-club) et la tournée française “D-Mention”. En 1999 rencontre avec MC Lou Valentino du label Funky Tone Records et une collaboration comme Dj et remixeur du label. Courant 2004 association avec le collectif “Omeostaz” et la résidence mensuelle sur une péniche. Début 2007 création du PaNet Label avec le collectif “Leechers” pour assouvir sa passion du son.

Innocentsound: Innocentsound est la collaboration musicale de Ab-Shab et de Goffab, deux membres du collectif parisien “SUS Rec” (So Underground Sound Records). Ab-Shab est dj sur la capitale française depuis 1992. Cela fait bientôt 5 ans qu’il compose une musique aux influences groovy et funky. Goffab est un Electro Sound Designer depuis les années 2000. Il a eu une formation classique avant de s’investir dans la MAO, ses influences sont nombreuses et sa curiosité toujours insatisfaite.

Mochimoshi: Mochimoshi est membre de l’association “ICONE” implanté sur Grenoble. D’abord guitariste autodidacte il découvre les multiples facettes de la MAO en 2002. Adepte d’un gros son groovy il veut bousculer les codes et évoluer librement dans la création musicale. Pour lui les règles sont faites pour êtres transgressés et toutes les influences sont bonnes à utiliser dans sa musique.

hey, guess what? we are one year old! after this relatively long time of online presence, pozitron records proudly presents it’s birthsday release: foreign artists visit foreign places lp.

have you ever thought about the actual geographical location of websites you visit daily? do you ever think about whether some place you see on the internet is real, or is just digitally constructed? do you actually see/visit something when you only see an image of it? these and such other questions interested us when we were planning this release, so in the world of mutual paranoia, total surveillance and global tracking, we thought of expanding the concept of travelling.

our producers were given a carefully chosen image of planet earth, and they had to travel there virtually, by using the map service of google. their task was to examine that location based on that image which appeared on their screen and write music about what they saw there, in their own, individual interpretation. for your comparison, we added some oddly descriptive subtitles, and even further on, if you click on them, you can visit the place too! get there fast as you can, it only depends on your internet connection.. but be careful, this is a see and hear only experience. everybody comes up with private interpretations. result may vary.

Thinner, a pesar de su buena prensa, es un sello que a mi no me suele gustar demasiado. Además de su longevidad, debe de ser también uno de los netlabels con los review más largos del mundo. En cada referencia, a modo de manual de instrucciones, explican de pe a pa todos los entresijos de la misma para que no te pierdas detalle, ¿sintetizar para qué? jajaja.

Bueno, ya fuera de bromas (o ironías)… os dejo con este especialísimo trabajo que han preparado para conmemorar los 100 lanzamientos como netlabel, algo que desde luego no pasa todos los días. No todo es música de baile pero hay más de un track interesante que merece la pena. Felicidades por las 100!.

Obviously reaching the century mark in any endeavor is a milestone and is cause for celebration. In the case of netlabel thinner, it’s release number 100 and this calls for a compilation to celebrate this special occasion. And there’s another reason to celebrate - the compilation also marks the relaunch of the thinner netlabel. So here’s an opportunity to hear an aural digest of thinner’s past and present and to have a glimpse into it’s future. A most fitting way to bring this year to a close and serve as an impetus for the new year.

Simply titled “100″, the compilation brings together thirteen artists who exemplify the thinner sound. Many of the contributors are renown thinner artists and/or have strong associations with the label, and several artists have only recently made their first appearance on the thinner. Whether established or new, each of these artists does his part in epitomizing what thinner music is all about while, at the same time, etching themselves into the minds of the listeners as they dish out an assortment of top-notch electronic music embodying such genres as dub (and its many dub-inspired manifestations), minimal house, minimal techno, and unique fusions of dub, house, and techno. An assortment of ambiances are to be found here ranging from laidback lounge to dance-floor friendly.

Veer gets the album off to a modish start with some classic dub that includes spoken word and vocals. Calming things down with some slow-moving, bass-laden, atmospheres, daniel blomqvist presents his experimental take on the traditional dub sound. Tracks 3 - 6 show thinner’s more minimal techno side not only with contributions by veteran thinner artists unit 21 and benfay but also a collaboration between jason corder and pheek working together as social system and new face to the thinner roster, one daniel herrmann performing as trace, who dishes out some strong vocal-laden techno. Sensual physics sets the mood for tracks 7 - 11 which delve heavily into the minimal/deep house sound featuring well known artists brian kage, epsilonlab label founder eloi brunelle, and das kraftfuttermischwerk not to mention a track from the mysterious recent thinner newcomer laura palmer. As “100″ nears its conclusion, off the sky and gyges present a rather unclassifiable track of crunchy, laidback experimental environments before the album makes full circle and transitions back to the signature thinner sound of the beginning with a closing piece by deluge who has composed a beautiful track of organic dub accentuated with acoustic samples.

So celebrate along with thinner as it reaches a new landmark in it’s existence by downloading “100″ and immerse yourself in the thinner experience.

Hola!, de la descripción sólo entiendo que se trata de un subsello dentro de Subindustries, prácticamente un trabalenguas jejeje.

Aunque hay un poco “de todo”, desde “ambient” hasta d&b (argh), pasando por el minimal o house más comercial, me gustaría destacar especialmente la preciosa canción de Audiofetish que abre el compilado y después ya pasando a la música de baile.. el temazo que se ha marcado Meridian, que es probablemente lo mejor de este trabajo. Está muy creativo este chico últimamente.

best beginning

Tremenda primera referencia la de este netlabel, del que por ahora no tengo información ya que su web está offline.

15 canciones entre las que se encuentran algunos grandes nombres de sobra conocidos por todos, casi se podría decir que lo mejor de cada casa, como el euro-japonés Hiroshi Oki (antiritmo, digital diamonds), Sr Click (inoquo, intoxik, offaudio), Markus Masuhr (isectorama, wazzotic, equaliteq) y un largo etcétera…, junto a un buen número de caras nuevas con una calidad que desde luego no desmerece al lado de los más veteranos.

Es difícil elegir un track entre tanto temazo, la mayoría tienen una calidad impresionante y son temas muy bailables, así que esta vez no me voy a mojar, en realidad me gustan casi todos. Será probablemente el mejor “va” de octubre, complicado superar esto.
