Choenyi - Defervescence (ykyk009)
Free NetLabel: www.yukiyaki.org

Style: minimal tech, electronic, dub
Choenyi kicks off his Yuki Yaki debut with a 6-track EP. This is his third appearance after the remix on YkYk008 and his compilation track on YkYk005.
He has created cold and dark tracks oscillating between Minimal Techno and Soundscapes. Profound beats are playing a main part in the conception of the tracks. The swinging Doma Fourth and the stomping hymn Triling can be located near Dance floor music. Spheric helicopter flights through a dark night.
Choenyi’s other issue is Dub. He has made it up of little, reduced reverb-rooms and the selective use of delays. No element is being pushed in front and klicking drums leave a lot of room for the dark dub of choenyi.
The remixers took a certain element of the track and moved it in to the fore. Lao and Nicolas Aguero aka Sumergido pushes Pollen more into the classical Dub scheme. Daniel Carew changed Doma Fourth into a dreamy and happy tune. Manziping puts some extra funk to Mime Dub, making it ready for peaktime dance floor.
Last but not least Dr. Nojoke use samples form “Pollen”, “Taurean Storm”, “Tri Ling” and “Monophase” to create his “Defervescence” extract.

«One day, not long ago, Hungarian Daniel P. decided to create some loops for his radio show at Torespont Radio. Some of those loops grew into tracks and that’s pretty much the story behind Project Swirl, Daniel’s minimal dub-infused electro outfit.
Since then, he has released a couple of EPs - on Eastern Recordings and Inoquo netlabels - and a compilation track in some Russian underground netlabel. Meanwhile, a couple more are underway, and this one ‘Alpha Centauri EP’ fell in test tube’s lap some months ago. And we’re glad it did.
Project Swirl’s sound comes as a true descendant of oldschool Basic Channel material, with a bit of monolake’s minimal techno and ~scape’s future dub into the mix. While ‘Alpha Centauri’ travels mostly into electro-techno territory, ‘Logical’ and ‘Illogical’ (two faces of the same coin, so to speak) are truly dubish pieces, reminders of Deadbeat’s more down to earth ‘dance’ tracks, but with a slight touch of german cerebral techno for good measure.
‘Tn’ comes from Daniel’s more ‘experimental’ side, if you wish. It’s downbeat and not for the dance floor, but nice anyway. Sweet!» - Pedro Leitão

He treats us with 2 deep and spacey tracks which will leave you wanting more. Black grass starts out the release with an old-fashioned vinyl feel, pure dub dirtiness. You’ll feel as though you’re tunneling your way through a dark Jamaican tunnel.
Kalabera is more of a spacey trip to an unknown galaxy. Stopping every now and then to enjoy the scenery. It feels so dark and lonely we have to wonder why we enjoy it so much.

This is the first release from echoscuro. We offer you two deep, dark & dubby tracks from hydrostatic.
Side A is an epic dark trip with twisting and churning samples all wrapped around a deep sub bass. A constantly building breaks rhythm reaches its peak, where suddenly it takes on a whole new face before your ears. Haunting vocals appear and disappear into the dark, chilly atmosphere, pulling you with them all the way to their untimely end.
Unlike witch cake, masakar doesn’t take its time to get to the point. A more upbeat track it’s 4/4 all the way through combining samples from the past, intertwined with futuristic glitchy computer sounds and effects. Definitely natural meeting artificial here.
